Talk & Social Thursday 9 March
Managing Varroa without Treatment
There has been a lot in the beekeeping press about managing varroa without treatments, sometimes over concerns that the mites are b147d1420-71ec-7e9d-cf9b-b1ea772aeb67.jpgecoming resistant to chemical applications. Tonight we have a talk from Tricia & Alan Nelson about going treatment free, which we expect to engender a lot of discussion. In fact we want to garner a good debate to help decide whether to treat or not !

Alan and Tricia Nelson, Master Beekeepers since 2015, have successfully kept between 30 and 35 colonies across 6 apiaries on the coast West Somerset. Their present project is about finding the best way to move away from using varroacides.  They are both members of the Devon Apicultural Research Group and are active in education, having run workshops at the Spring Convention, and Somerset lecture day.

Come tomorrow 9th March at 7.30pm. We shall meet at our usual venue : Imber Court, Ember Lane, KT8 0BT. Grab a drink from the bar and come upstairs to the small conference room. All members are invited to join this talk & Social.
