This module covers the extraction of honey, then processing it and bottling it for sale. We will also cover cut comb, chunk honey and then the conditions suitable for storing honey. There is a section on wax, dealing with cappings and how they can be made. The final section is on bee forage, good sources of nectar, and the process of pollination and fertilisation.
There will be a charge of £10 for the five sessions to offset hire charges.
All members are welcome to extend their knowledge, they are useful discussion sessions and pooling of knowledge. It is a study group and people are asked to contribute. There is no pressure to actually enter for the assessment, the important thing is to acquire knowledge about our wonderful hobby.
